At the heart of the icy expanses of northern Greenland, in Savissivik, in the mysterious “iceberg graveyard”, I captured a singular image of an iceberg with a majestic ice arch. On this expedition to the Arctic extremes, I was deeply inspired by the ethereal, surreal light of the polar zones, which bathed the landscape in an almost supernatural atmosphere.
The surrounding silence, punctuated only by the distant cracking of ice, added a dimension of serenity and mystery to an already enchanting place. The beauty of the place, with its bluish hues and sparkling reflections, overwhelmed me with raw emotion and boundless admiration.
My creative photographic process was guided by this total immersion in the landscape. The quality of the ice, with its changing reflections and diverse textures, offered me a rich and fascinating visual palette. Every crack, every curve of the iceberg revealed a new facet of this grandiose natural structure. In framing my shot, I sought to capture not only the imposing form of the arch, but also the very essence of this unique polar environment, where light and ice engage in a delicate, ephemeral ballet.
This photograph is much more than just an image; it's a testimony to a moment suspended in time, an ode to the wild, pristine splendor of the Arctic.
